Eco post #01: tips, food and clothing

Hello friends! Today I’m going to write a bit about how you can save the world.
I’m planning on doing an ‘eco post’ now and then to show the ecologically themed content/tips we’ve been creating.

Some eco tips:
Here’s an overview of the tips we’ve been posting on our Instagram page concerning the environment.

Eco tip: A lot of plastic waste comes from toothbrushes.
I’ve been using a bamboo toothbrush for a while now and I don’t notice any difference with plastic toothbrushes.
I ordered mine online and it was very cheap, so don’t hesitate to get one!

Eco tip: This one might be a bit obvious,
but even electric cars take a lot of energy and materials to be made (buying second hand would be a better option). Or share a car with multiple people.

Eco tip: Not many people know that the meat industry causes a huge problem for the environment.
If we would all eat less animal products there would be a big change already.
I haven’t eaten meat in 2 years and the only regret I have is that I haven’t started earlier!

Eco tip: biodegradable plastics need particular requirements to degrade, so make sure you bring them to your recycling center so they can handle your plastics.
Otherwise your ecological plastic will end up in the oceans anyway and we don’t want that!
We definitely want to work more with biodegradable plastics, but we’ll include a recycling guide so nothing goes to waste.

Eco tip: be careful with recycled PET fabrics,
because when you wash them in a washing machine tiny plastic pieces release from the sweater and end up in the ocean!
A lot of companies use this as a marketing stunt, but you should be skeptical about this.

Some video’s to give you inspiration:
Here are the eco themed video’s we made over at our Youtube channel!

Influencer we’ve been enjoying:
We’re ending this post with an influencer you all should be following. We even designed a logo for her!
She can be found under the name Laura from the Desert.
She posts a lot of tips about how you can live a waste free life, so be sure to check her out and give her a follow!
And she lives in Belgium as well (have to support your local entrepreneurs, right?)

That was it for today. Hope to see you in our next blogpost 🙂 Byebye!
